Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Pamela Souza, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Trauma. Alongside my work in mental health, I am also actively involved in ministry. I hold a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies and am currently completing my Master of Divinity (MDiv).

For the past five years, I have been providing therapeutic services, supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate anxiety, depression, emotional challenges, personal growth, healing, relationship concerns, and major life transitions.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I believe every person brings a unique story, set of experiences, strengths, and needs into the therapeutic space.

I primarily draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the Gottman Method, EMDR, and trauma-informed care, while tailoring treatment to each client’s specific goals and circumstances. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring difficult emotions and experiences.

I also believe therapy should be practical and purposeful. Together, we work not only to understand the roots of current struggles, but also to develop healthier coping skills, improve relationships, strengthen emotional awareness, and create meaningful changes that can be applied to everyday life.

I can also integrate Christian faith and biblical principles into the counseling process. Faith integration is always guided by each client’s preferences.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. We will spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brought you to therapy, and exploring the concerns, experiences, or goals that you would like to work on. I will also ask questions about your background, current challenges, relationships, and other areas of your life that may be important to understanding your needs. You are never expected to share more than you feel comfortable sharing, and we can move at a pace that feels safe for you.

The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, learn more about how I work, and determine whether you feel we are a good fit. Together, we will begin identifying your goals for therapy and discussing a treatment approach that is tailored to your individual needs.
