Great to meet you!

I'm an energetic, compassionate therapist who uses humor and curiosity along with a dose of sarcasm and playfulness to draw out my clients and build rapport. I am great at engaging with children and teens who have difficulty opening up in the therapy office. I've been licensed for over 30 years - but don't let the silver hair fool you, I like to have fun and stay active in the room with my clients!

My approach to therapy

I utilize a playful but direct style and enjoy challenging ideas and habits that are not longer serving my clients. I prefer working with more than one person in the room in a dyadic or family system approach so I can help parents and children or teens connect in new ways and transfer those skills to the home environment. I'm trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Polyvagal Theory, TF-CBT, DBT, EMDR, Attachment Focused EMDR, TBRI, and am a certified Autism Provider.

What you can expect from me

I usually meet with parents or caregivers 2-3 times prior to meeting children as I love getting to know the whole system and influencing factors at home so we can formulate the best plan moving forward. Once we establish rapport I enjoy helping children feel safe and finding their voice and collaborating with parents and teens to explore new ways of relating that will work better for everyone.
