Great to meet you!

I have always been deeply passionate about mental health and supporting others through life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University in 2019 and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ohio University in 2011. I have worked in the behavioral health field since 2012, gaining experience across a variety of settings and levels of care.

My professional background includes working as a behavioral health technician in substance abuse treatment, serving as a counselor-in-training specializing in eating disorders, and facilitating groups for individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. These experiences have allowed me to work with diverse populations and develop a strong, compassionate, and flexible therapeutic approach. Working specifically with men and women experiencing challenges related substance/alcohol abuse is my specialty. Particularly learning how to develop healthy behaviors beyond addiction and how to maintain healthy relationships through recovery.

I bring a naturally empathetic and understanding presence into my work. Having navigated my own mental health challenges, I understand firsthand how vulnerable it can feel to seek support. I have personally benefited from meaningful therapeutic relationships, which inspired me to pursue this career and give back what I have received from wonderful therapists along the way. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healing process.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered and grounded in unconditional positive regard. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation for meaningful change, and I prioritize creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. Building trust is central to my work, as it allows clients to explore challenges openly and engage fully in the therapeutic process.

I integrate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while also developing practical tools for coping and emotional regulation. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. I work alongside clients to support self-awareness, resilience, and sustainable growth, empowering them to move toward greater balance and well-being.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive space where you are encouraged to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process or my approach to therapy. I want you to feel comfortable and informed as we begin working together.

We will spend time exploring what brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from the experience, and discussing relevant aspects of your personal history. This initial session is also an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready for—our work will move at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.
