Great to meet you!

I began nursing degree with Wesleyan West Virginia College in Buckhannon, WV. Then, for interest in psychology, merged to Shenandoah University, as the first cohort to do so, in Winchester, VA for certification of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. While not originally from West Virginia, this has become my home.

With nearly ten years professional experience in psychiatry I wish to continue to assist those of the area. Not pushing medication alone; supporting all personal efforts.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I will assess with each person their individual concerns and experiences. I take time to get to know each person as best as can for their care. Diagnosis or areas of concern will be discussed and if medication felt appropriate we will go over options. Always trying to select the best fit for safety and symptoms. Medication alone if often not full resolve and I take personal interest in each person whom I see in order to help support positivity, growth and quality of life.

What you can expect from our first session

Typically discussion each visit is geared to evaluate general daily habits that would relate to mental health. Safety and knowing one's own "red flags" is important to establish with baseline and expectation. Moving forward the goal to have least medication needed for efficacy, Being mindful of possible side effects. Finally, positive daily practices and a solid knowledge of self and diagnosis allows best coping and skill use to maintain best quality of life possible.
