Great to meet you!

I am licensed in New York with over 9 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients of all ages with addiction, PTSD, depression, stress/anxiety, grief/loss, motivation, self-esteem, and family work. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

My approach to therapy

My style is a combination of casual/professional, direct/gentle and can be catered to a client's overall needs and needs for a particular session.

I often use humor, when appropriate, and care deeply for all of my clients.

I use Gestalt psychotherapy and also subscribe to Yalom's Existential philosophy that, "It is the relationship that heals". Creating a safe, trusting and open connection is paramount in a client-therapist relationship.

I also draw from Humanistic, Behavioral, Cognitive and Psychoanalytic/dynamic theories.

What you can expect from me

During initial sessions, I review my style/approach, answer any questions you may have and gather relevant background information. I also like to focus on the main reason the client is seeking therapy, any previous therapy experiences and any specific needs to consider, ie-cultural, gender identity, sexuality, religion or spiritual needs.

In ongoing sessions, a more complete psychosocial history is discussed, including family history, medical history, trauma history, etc. If you are not ready to discuss certain parts of your story, there is no pressure to do so, however I will encourage clients to do so when they feel able to.

I encourage clients to set goals they are comfortable with and assist with steps to reach these goals.
