Great to meet you!

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and extensive critical care background. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing and am currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Shaped by my journey as an immigrant and a Black woman, I bring empathy, cultural awareness, and a holistic, evidence-based approach to psychiatric care. I provide medication management and psychotherapy in a supportive, patient-centered environment that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds.

My approach to therapy

I take a patient-centered, empathic, and evidence-based approach to care. I focus on active listening, collaboration, and thoughtful treatment planning, integrating medication management and psychotherapy to meet each patient’s unique needs. I strive to create a supportive and respectful space where patients feel valued, understood, and empowered in their care.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my primary focus is on listening and getting to know you. I take time to understand your concerns, your experiences, and what you are hoping to gain from care. This initial visit is a collaborative conversation where you are encouraged to share at your own pace in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space.

We will review your mental health history, current symptoms, and any immediate needs or priorities. Together, we will begin to identify goals for treatment and discuss appropriate next steps, which may include psychotherapy, medication options, or a combination of both. Above all, the first session is about building trust and establishing a therapeutic relationship so you feel heard, respected, and supported from the start.
