Great to meet you!

My curiosity about substance abuse and family systems sparked my interest in this field, leading me to study substance abuse counseling, which eventually deepened my passion for psychology.

Over the years, I’ve worked in Connecticut alongside DCF and the court systems. Since starting as a case manager in 1995, I’ve continued to grow and gain valuable experience in this ever-evolving field of psychology.

My approach to therapy

My approach mainly involves using DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), which focuses on building core skills to manage emotions and enhance relationships. I also emphasize understanding the impact of culture on counseling and am exploring the rise in ADHD diagnoses among adults, as well as how late diagnoses influence their perspective on the future. I also love practicing Christian therapy, as it allows clients to explore their beliefs and how faith interacts with their everyday lives.

What you can expect from me

The initial sessions include an intake and assessment, during which the gathered information helps provide an initial diagnosis. These sessions also cover confidentiality, introduce the therapist to the client, and offer an opportunity to address questions.
