Great to meet you!

It takes courage to reach out, and many times individuals come to therapy after long deliberation, much "trying to figure it out by myself", and often with with some trepidation or nervousness about sharing such personal information with a stranger. I get it...and my goal is to create an experience where you feel truly Heard, encouraged, and "lighter"/less burdened. I have worked with a wide variety of Clients and life challenges, from relationship problems to serious mental illness such as Schizophrenia or Bipolar D/O. I have worked extensively with adolescents, but now I work with adults only. We all have strengths, and I believe one of mine is naturally being accessible, welcoming, and naturally compassionate. I would honored to walk alongside you in your journey to healing.

My approach to therapy

I consistently provide Person Centered Therapy out of a natural desire to recognize Clients' dignity and their uniqueness- Plus I genuinely enjoy listening to Clients' stories and experiences. I believe I am a good listener! I incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy and have a real respect for this approach as I have seen this skill help individuals find or revitalize strengths and added optimism or hope. This technique helps individuals learn better identify and challenge deep core beliefs that were not only mistaken, but could lead to feeling that Life in general just isn't working. I also use Mindfulness based practices that can help Clients to feel more grounded while steering away from the obsessing on maladaptive negative and intrusive thoughts. I love questions from Clients and I take as long as we need to break down and thoroughly explain these techniques, and am open to suggestions or requests from Clients regarding the style of therapy used. I work to keep sessions comfortable above all, productive (even fruitful) and deeply focused on Client's particular situations.

What you can expect from me

Clients often report they easily felt more comfortable in sessions because I am without airs, judgement, and truly enjoy Clients. This helps significantly with that first appointment apprehension. I am a natural listener and focus on Client's agency in making decisions about their therapy and treatment goals. I like your questions, and I explain what happens from treatment planning that is Client directed to checking in with Your concept of progress along the way.
