Great to meet you!

Hello there! I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Texas with 33 years of experience, and most of the families who find me are tired of being handed a diagnosis and sent home with a worksheet. Maybe your child is melting down before school and the teacher keeps calling. Maybe you're the person everyone leans on, and nobody checks on. I work with children, teens, adults, and whole families, and I'm as comfortable in a room with a nine-year-old as I am with two parents who can't agree on what's happening. I provide virtual therapy across Texas, making it easier to fit sessions around school pickup, work, and the drive that used to eat up your afternoon.

My approach to therapy

I use cognitive behavioral therapy to give you tools you can name and repeat, family-focused and psychoeducational family therapy when the pattern lives between people rather than inside one person, and solution-focused brief therapy when you need traction in weeks rather than years. With younger children I use child-parent work, because a seven-year-old's progress is usually a parent's progress too. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy comes in when the real problem is a mind that won't stop rehearsing. I start from what's already working in your life and build out from there, and I'll tell you plainly what I think is going on

What you can expect from me

Our first session runs 60 minutes, with no phone screening beforehand. You'll do most of the talking. I'll ask what brought you here now, what you've already tried, and what you want to be different in three months. If we're working with your family, I'll ask each person what they think the problem is, and I won't referee. You'll leave with my honest read on what's happening and a plan for where we start. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so and point you somewhere better.
