Psychotherapy is a second career for me and I identify strongly with social work values, meeting you where you are and using my skill and knowledge to listen to you and help you to find ways of living that create more calm and satisfaction in your life. I earned my MSW at Rutgers after earning my BFA, working in Advertising for years. I have worked for 15 years in MH Clinics and 12 in private practice providing a broad scope of practice in terms of diagnosis and culture.

I like to learn about you, what brings you to therapy and what your life is about. In learning your history as well as symptoms I am best able to form a clinical approach to working with you that I think will help. "The relationship is the vehicle" is a famous quote that I believe is true. If we connect that predicts success. I encourage you to be forthright not only about yourself but about "us" and will help you to either work through or move on. Therapy is for you.

Patients can expect to feel heard, respected and hopeful. Through our work you will begin to feel more confident as we find new ways of looking at what is bothering you and new ways to cope with life events, anxiety, depression, other mood episodes and crises. I use Interpersonal, breath and movement, CBT techniques depending on your needs with the goal of you becoming your own therapist-I believe we all know ourselves best!
