Great to meet you!

You've taken the hardest step!

I have been working in the mental health field since 1991. During that time I have pursued education, training and occupational experience working with individuals impacted by trauma, mood disorders, grief, life transitions, chronic conditions, spiritual crisis and/or the personal or secondary impact of substance or process use disorders or dependency. My goal as a licensed counselor, certified substance use counselor and EMDR provider is to assist others in learning to identify/manage coping responses that are maladaptive and learn new approaches that help them lead healthier lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy with clients is collaborative and solution focused. I see sessions as a meeting of the minds as you try new behaviors or address unhelpful thoughts that have held you back from the life you want to live. My position as a neutral party is to educate you about your struggles and support you as you make needed adjustments. I also like to point out your WINS along the way.

What you can expect from me

After meeting to identify your challenges and fine-tune your goals, our ultimate goal will be to appropriately move from weekly sessions to sessions every few months. As we work toward increased understanding, acceptance and mastery of new choices, the goal is to eventually end our sessions.
