Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Patricia Garcia, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Case Manager (CCM). I specialize in providing client-centered, empathetic care, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support individuals, families, and children. My focus is on empowering clients to achieve their personal goals and improve their overall well-being.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining several evidence-based modalities to best meet the unique needs of each client. I commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is another key approach, which focuses on teaching mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Additionally, I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients accept their thoughts and feelings and commit to actions that align with their values. For those who have experienced trauma, I incorporate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to provide specialized support and healing.

What you can expect from our first session

When setting goals with clients, I take a collaborative and individualized approach. We begin by identifying the client's personal values, strengths, and areas of concern. Together, we develop specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals that align with their overall well-being and long-term aspirations. I support clients in breaking down larger goals into manageable steps, regularly reviewing progress, and making adjustments as needed. This process ensures that clients feel empowered and motivated as they work towards their desired outcomes.

During the first session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where we focus on getting to know each other. I will ask about their background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. We will discuss their personal history, any previous therapy experiences, and what they hope to achieve through our work together. This session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions about the therapeutic process and my approach. By the end of the first session, we will have a clearer understanding of how we can move forward collaboratively to address their needs and goals.
