Great to meet you!

In my30 years of working with a variety of people of all ages, I've enjoyed meeting people and feel that therapy is a mutual learning experience. I worked a lot in the field of addiction & trauma and have published on that work. I teach graduate courses on this subject here and abroad. I've also obtained certifications in hypnotherapy, grief, EMDR and Reiki to assist my patients and keep current with trainings on a wide range of issues to do with art therapy and mental health in general.

My approach to therapy

I have studied many approaches that influence my practice, primarily psychoanalysis, family therapists like Minuchin, Satir and Hellinger, gestalt, Jung DBT, and clinical neuroscience experts in art therapy and trauma. I was also fortunate to study with Sensory Awareness teacher, Mary Alice Roche in the 80s and 90s which helps to center and self-regulate.

What you can expect from me

I want clients to feel comfortable and try to be sensitive to their needs. Its important to help alleviate discomfort right away when possible and to work together to get to the root of the problem strategically and expeditiously. Art therapy and dreamwork are very helpful in providing insight to target the source of the problem and the solution. Hypnosis, EMDR and NLP help greatly to identify and correct suppositions that are wrong or no longer valid.
