Great to meet you!

I take great satisfaction in helping adults who struggle with depression and anxiety arising from events and situations - past or present -that have triggered painful feelings or dysfunctional coping. Life transitions such as divorce or family estrangement; the death of a loved one, including pets; or career struggles, are areas of expertise for me. I think that, partnered with a guide of skilled means and a compassionate spirit, we humans can be incredibly resilient under almost any circumstances. There might be a sense of something that was lost, found; or there might be a brand new experience of hope.

My approach to therapy

Experiencing a connection, and the hope of finding deeper meaning and purpose, is powerful towards resolving one's presenting dilemma. I use methods that are experiential, existential, and emotionally focused. Motivational Interviewing (MI), the expressive arts and nature immersion can also enhance well-being. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a base line.

What you can expect from me

Like most people, I've experienced many aspects of "the human condition," including chronic illness, infertility, adoption, the sudden deaths of loved ones, and family conflicts. I've seen firsthand that healing is part of our core nature, and that everyone can and should be able to feel like themselves again, and to find meaning and purpose after suffering.
