Great to meet you!

I want my clients to know that empathy is not just something I practice; it is at the core of how I provide psychiatric care. I genuinely care about the people I work with, and I believe in taking the time to understand each person’s story before moving into treatment. As a psychiatric provider with a background in family practice, I work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, emotional exhaustion, and feeling disconnected from themselves or others. My approach is supportive, thoughtful, and individualized, with the goal of helping clients feel heard, understood, and empowered as we work together toward healing, clarity, and a stronger connection with themselves. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, with Spanish as my native language, which allows me to provide care in a culturally sensitive way for Spanish-speaking clients.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, compassionate, individualized, and integrative. I believe in understanding the whole person, not just the diagnosis. I take the time to explore how mental health symptoms may be affecting different areas of life, including sleep, relationships, daily functioning, sense of purpose, and overall well-being. From there, I work collaboratively with each client to develop a treatment plan that feels realistic, supportive, and aligned with their goals. My integrative psychiatric approach considers evidence-based medication management when appropriate, while also recognizing the important role of lifestyle, emotional health, culture, personal background, and the mind-body connection. As a bilingual provider whose native language is Spanish, I also value the role of language and culture in mental health care. My goal is to provide psychiatric care in a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, my priority is to get to know you as a person and understand what has brought you to care at this point in your life. I will ask about your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, daily functioning, sleep, relationships, stressors, and goals for treatment. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before we meet. Many clients begin care simply knowing that something feels off or that they need support, and that is completely okay. Most importantly, I want you to feel safe, heard, and understood, because I believe this is the foundation of any meaningful therapeutic relationship. By the end of the first session, we will begin identifying your main concerns and develop a thoughtful plan for moving forward together.
