Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Vermont with over 13 years of professional work experience in a variety of settings within the mental health field. I have been in private practice for over half of that time.

I have experience in assisting people that are experiencing, or have experienced stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, low motivation, low self-esteem and confidence, and/or relationship difficulties. I also have experience assisting people that are experiencing life changes or want to make life changes and behavior changes.

I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

My approach to therapy

I attempt to approach therapy in a way that meets the individual person where they are, while bringing my genuine self and some humor into sessions. Some people need a therapist that motivates them, some people need a person to sit with in their pain and struggle, some people need assistance in seeing the resiliency they possess and understanding how to use that.

I attempt to communicate about the therapy process and my approach openly to ensure our fit is meeting your needs and am open to feedback along the process. I understand I am not the right therapist for everyone and am supportive with hearing about your experience.

What you can expect from me

In a first session, we will start by talking about what brought you into therapy and what you hope to get out of the experience.

I do have an intake to complete, so we will discuss your history, as well as details related to current experience and your perspective of your own life.

We also will be getting a feel for, if this is a good therapeutic fit, as research shows therapeutic fit is the best predictive factor related to positive outcomes. It is a chance for you decided if I am the right counselor for you and for me to decide the same.
