Great to meet you!

If you've been in the same patterns for too long, the anxiety that keeps resurfacing, the same relationships falling apart, the self-criticism you can't seem to shake, you're not alone, and you don't have to have it all figured out to start. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Miami working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. My style is curious and unhurried. I'm more interested in what's underneath your symptoms than in handing you a worksheet. I work with clients in English and Portuguese, and I bring a genuine understanding of the cultural weight that many Latin and immigrant communities carry quietly, often without the language to name it.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is conversational and collaborative. We talk, we notice things, and we make sense of them together. I draw mostly from psychodynamic and relational approaches, which means we pay close attention to how your earlier relationships and your inner world shape what you feel and do today. When it's useful, I bring in practical tools from CBT and Motivational Interviewing for managing anxiety, regulating emotions, or building skills between sessions. The pace is set by you. My job is to take your story seriously, not just the diagnosis on paper.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a beginning, not a checklist. We'll cover some practical ground, but more importantly, we'll start getting a feel for one another. I'll listen carefully to what's bringing you in and to what might be underneath it. The presenting concern is usually a doorway, not the whole house. Ambivalence, uncertainty, and "I'm not sure why I'm here" are all welcome. There's no need to perform wellness or arrive with a polished narrative. By the end, I want you to leave with a clearer sense of whether this feels like a fit. If it does, we'll begin building from there.
