I grew up in Kansas, becoming a "Shocker" as an undergrad, then moving to Texas to finish my Counseling degree at the University of North Texas. As a counselor, I was drawn to help people in the midst of their relationship challenges, and I soon found myself helping them with self-awareness, communication skills, listening techniques, and strategies to move forward with their goals.
First and foremost I am a listener and hearer of personal experiences. I hear truths and I acknowledge feelings of exhaustion, despair, betrayal, resentment, and anger. By the same token, I affirm and celebrate those of being loved, heard, acknowledged and trusted. In the midst of their stories, I walk alongside clients and listen to their narratives, wrapping my mind around areas upon which I'm able to share expertise.
My training and experience allow me to serve as the one who can help clients sort out thoughts and coach them in helpful techniques and strategies that allow them to move further down the road of the path they wish to choose. Together, we talk through their story and find helpful ways that they may become aware of the path and walk the path.
