Great to meet you!

You may spend so much energy adapting to other people that it's hard to know what you want, ask for what you need, or feel like yourself. I help adolescents and adults make sense of those patterns, navigate difficult relationships, and find ways to respond that fit their needs and values. You can expect honest conversations, room to disagree, and a therapist who takes your perspective seriously.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with an MA in Counseling Psychology from Dallas Baptist University. My background includes nonprofit counseling and juvenile justice. I've worked with veterans, first responders, and neurodivergent individuals, and my treatment areas include depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and major life changes.

My interest in storytelling and tabletop roleplaying games also informs my work. I also facilitate therapeutic groups where people practice communication, collaboration, and emotional skills through shared storytelling. I'm interested in both what brings you to therapy and the interests, relationships, and experiences that make you who you are.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, conversational, and sometimes challenging. I help people examine the beliefs and expectations they've developed about themselves, their relationships, and the roles they play in other people's lives. Sometimes that means learning new skills or finding practical solutions. Other times, it means questioning assumptions that have shaped how you've see yourself for years. One of my goals is to help you develop a more caring and effective relationship with yourself. Many people are much better at understanding, encouraging, and caring for others than they are at giving themselves that same consideration. I want to help you become someone you can rely on for that same kind of understanding and support. I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including CBT, EMDR, and solution focused therapy, and adapt our work to your individual needs.

What you can expect from me

You can expect honest conversations, thoughtful questions, and a therapist who takes your experiences seriously. I'll bring my clinical knowledge and experience to our work, but I also recognize that you've spent a lifetime getting to know yourself. My role isn't to tell you who you are or what you should want. It's to help you see things you might not have considered and decide what to do with that understanding. I'll listen, offer perspective, and sometimes challenge you to consider things differently. I also welcome disagreement.

When we've finished out work, I want you to leave therapy with more than a set of coping skills. I want you to have developed the understanding, confidence, and compassion necessary to become someone you can turn to for guidance and support the next time life gets tough.
