Great to meet you!

Welcome — I'm so glad you're here! With 23 years of experience as a school social worker, I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families navigate life's challenges and build the skills needed to thrive at home, school and in their communities. I work with children and teens ages 3-17, as well as parents and caregivers who are seeking support, guidance, and practical strategies to strengthen family relationships and improve daily functioning.

I specialize in working with neurodivergent children and adolescents, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), social-communication challenges, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and behavioral challenges. My approach is strenght-based, collaborative and tailored to each child's unique needs.

My approach to therapy

I believe that every child and family has unique strength, resilience and the capacity for growth. My approach to therapy is warm, patient, collaborative and strengths base. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where children, adolescents and their families feel heard, respected and understood.

I recognize that each person brings their own experiences, values, culture and perspective to the therapeutic process. As a culturally competent and open-minded therapist, I meet clients where they are and tailor treatment to their individual needs, goals and strengths.

When working with children and teens, I focus on building trusting relationships while helping them develop practical skills for emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, social interactions and coping with life's challenges. I believe parents and caregivers play an essential role in a child's success, so I work collaboratively with families to strengthen relationships, build confidence, and create strategies that support growth both at home and at school.

What you can expect from me

Our first session together will be one where we spent time gathering background information, talking about goals and outcomes and sharing the ways in which I can support and help guide your child(ren), you and or your family to reach what we have set out to accomplish.

I will create a warm and inviting environment to help ease any discomfort so that your child(ren) and you feel welcomed to share openly. It is my mission to support children and families so they can be the best versions of themselves and live a fulfilling life.
