Dr. Patricia Calixte-Civil, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, from New Jersey, who works with adults who are dealing with life changes, anxiety, cancer, fertility issues, and relationship problems. Dr. Calixte-Civil, also called Dr. Patty, has extensive experience with supportive care for mental health and physical health conditions, and is a registered Health Service Psychologist and published researcher of health psychology.

Dr. Calixte-Civil studied at the University of South Florida, where she obtained a PhD in psychology. She also has several years of experience working for Rutgers, Moffitt, and Duke, where she established her strengths in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration that have been a crucial part of her practice and her patients' success and progress.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Calixte-Civil’s treatment approach is rooted in understanding how an individual’s life experiences have impacted their thinking style and behavior, and using that knowledge to inform treatment goals.

Dr. Calixte-Civil has a unique view and experience with patient-centered care that will improve self-esteem and quality of life. Dr. Calixte-Civil has excelled in her practice because she combines evidence-based therapy with a client-centered approach, and a commitment to transparency that help clients achieve meaningful, lasting change. Dr. Calixte-Civil is an avid fan of board games and local theatre and enjoys. She is inspired by hope and trust that pain does not have to be suffering and wants that same inspiration to translate to their patients' treatment.

Dr. Calixte-Civil’s main goals for her patients include creating a supportive space, focusing on what is within their control, and creating a plan they believe in to help them reach their own goals for a meaningful life. She believes that in her practice, her patients can learn to stop avoiding pain, fear, and grief while nurturing hope and choosing small, meaningful action steps.
