Paul Barnes

I am Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker practicing since 2004. I received my undergraduate degree from UMASS Boston in 1994 and a Masters In Social Work in 2004. I worked 2 years as an out-patient clinician in a community behavioral health clinic, 1 year as a group facilitator in a partial hospital program, 15 years working on PACT teams serving people with severe mental health issues maintain their ability to function in the community. * of those years was the director of the program. I have also worked as director of a program serving at risk youths with in home therapy. I am currently in private practice specializing in couples therapy.

have an Advanced training in Imago Couples Therapy. I also have 15 years experience working with persons with anxiety and panic disorders, mania, and stress related phobias. My approach in couples therapy, is to help couples heal childhood wounds that are often recreated in their current relationships. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Informed Therapy.

In our first session together, we will focus on your needs. I may ask lots of questions about your past so I can get to know you better and of course I will answer any questions you may have. My goal in our first session is to gather enough information so that we can set some goals together.
