Great to meet you!

Hi there, my name is Paul and I have 17+ years of experience working with individuals experiencing transitions from one stage of life to another, in addition to those trying to understand and improve their interpersonal relationships. I also specialize in adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, as well as substance abuse.

I am a parent and I have been married and divorced. When I am not providing therapy, I enjoy reading history, philosophy, and science fiction!

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I am analytical, humanistic, client-centered and solution-focused. I draw from a variety of approaches and modalities including cognitive-behavioral, trauma-informed, and solution focused. I have worked with children and adults. I come from a diverse cultural background and that has helped me to empathize with others.

What you can expect from me

During a session, I like to assess what kinds of supports a client has. I listen actively to clients as they discuss their progress, needs, and challenges in therapy. I also like to discuss with the client if they are meeting their goals in therapy, and why. During our first session, I would like us to get to know each other better. I will likely ask you if you what motivates you to participate in therapy and what your previous experiences, if any, have been with therapy.
