Great to meet you!

Hey! I'm Paul. I completed my education at my home town college, UNR, and have spent years working in mental health in a variety of settings (hospital, community health center, etc). I have worked with folks from all different backgrounds and life experiences facing all kinds of different challenges - depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, and more.

My approach to therapy

I typically use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help people reduce suffering while moving towards what they want out of life. I'm also trained in other therapies for specific problems (EMDR for trauma for example). I take a curious and active approach to working with people. You should walk away from each session with something new - a new skill, a new insight, or a direction to move in. The thing that is most important, though, is the human that is in the room.

What you can expect from me

Working with me, you can expect warmth, acceptance, and dedication. It's important that we set clear goals for what you'd like to get out of coming to therapy - that way we both know the if we're moving in the right direction. It's always collaborative, because you are the expert on your own experience, and you are the captain of your own ship.
