Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Paul Remmele, LMFT. As a therapist, I have an eclectic approach. I believe personal growth can occur by alternately focusing on thoughts, emotions and/or behavior. However, in my graduate studies, subsequent training, and my own personal psychotherapy, I learned to value attachment orientated therapy, which focuses on feelings and the ability to develop and maintain secure relationships. I believe the ability to bond with others inevitably leads to deeper fulfillment.

My approach to therapy

I am a client-directed psychotherapist. I believe in clients’ innate wisdom regarding their inner life. I therefore help clients find their true voice and identify the goals they believe can help them achieve their deepest potential and most enduring satisfaction. I often find that a focus on attachment and feelings can accelerate the therapeutic process. I also help people realize and appreciate their strengths and significant qualities, which many of us don’t see or tend to undervalue.

What you can expect from me

Building trust and creating a safe environment is the first essential step in therapy since many of us still carry around the pain and hurt from our childhood and more recent adult experiences. I strive to understand and feel what my clients are thinking and feeling. Another essential goal I have is to build on clients’ inner strengths and enhance their self-esteem so they begin to believe that they can change their lives and realize deeper satisfaction.
