Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Paula, a licensed mental health therapist dedicated to helping individuals overcome personal problems and difficulties that are weighing them down. I specialize in working with those facing significant mental health issues, relationship problems, and challenges faced by those recovering from addiction, as well as their family members. I also work with clients needing guidance in finding life direction and managing stress. I offer real, open-minded, compassionate support. I’d love to learn more about how I can help you on your journey!

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is a connected client-centered focus to create a safe place for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This environment fosters openness and trust in the therapeutic relationship that is imperative to successful therapy. Some of the proven modalities I incorporate in the process are Cognitive and Dialectical behavioral therapy to address negative thought patterns and emotional instability. I also incorporate Motivational Interviewing designed to empower people to change by drawing out their own meaning, importance, and capacity for change. For trauma work, I use Brainspotting and Level III Trauma Training, which offers a unique experience in trauma recovery.

What you can expect from me

My communication style is non-judgmental, understanding, and direct in a supportive way. I want my clients to feel accepted, understood, and safe to explore their inner world of thoughts and emotions. Often, clients say they feel validated and heard when working with me. I blend honesty, warmth, and a dash of humor to challenge and support them in creating a life that aligns with their values and truth. Clients trust that I truly care about them and genuinely have their highest good in mind and heart. I am passionate about my client's feeling heard, understood, and supported in every session.
