Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Paula Elliott-Gilroy, LCSW-R, I graduated from Stony Brook University with a Master's of Social Work.

I’m passionate about helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change in their lives. I know that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, so I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel safe being fully themselves.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. Many of the clients I work best with are people who have spent years taking care of everyone else while struggling quietly on their own. Together, we focus on helping you better understand yourself, strengthen coping skills, improve emotional balance, and move toward the life you want to build.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I draw from evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and emotionally focused approaches. I tailor treatment to each individual because I believe therapy should never feel one-size-fits-all.

What you can expect from me

In our work together, you can expect authenticity, empathy, and a therapist who genuinely cares about helping you feel heard, valued, and capable of change. You do not have to figure everything out alone.

Clients often describe me as warm, relatable, calming, and easy to talk to. I believe in meeting people where they are while also gently encouraging growth, accountability, and healing. I balance emotional support with practical strategies that clients can use in everyday life.
