Paula Jakubowski

I am a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years experience as a therapist. I also have a license as clinical substance abuse counselor. Prior to getting my professional counseling license, I spent over 20 years working as a case manager for adults diagnosed with mental and physical disabilities. I have also provided counseling for adults with substance use disorders. I bring an array of experience and knowledge regarding human struggles and suffering. I consider myself an advocate to support people as they face life's insurmountable challenges.

I believe in approaching therapy with kindness and compassion and empowering individuals to be the best version of themselves. I believe that all people deserve to be heard and validated as they share the most intimate details and experiences of their lives. I like to offer fresh perspectives and provide education when requested or needed. I like to assist individuals in making connections they may have not considered before and working, together, towards possible solutions.

Clients being seen for the first time can expect to walk away feeling validated, heard and together have an idea of what therapy, for them, needs to focus on going forward. The first session often involves the gathering of background information to adequately to provide a more personalized treatment experience and best possible outcomes.
