Great to meet you!

Welcome! I treat adults ages 18+ for anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, trauma histories, life changes (divorce/ending relationships, career, pregnancy (or considering these), college life issues, illness & loss. With a Master's in Social Work & BA in Psychology & peace studies, I explore how childhood & cultural experiences (e.g., racism, sexism, classism & all the ‘isms’) shape us. I help clients identify goals and navigate their desired paths.

My approach to therapy

I believe we all have vast intelligence, creativity, abilities & a desire for deep connection, but our 'distresses' can stymie us. I strive to build trusting, safe & empowering therapeutic relationships to help clients explore their feelings, thoughts & experiences. I'm compassionate, respectful, accepting, and curious; I value humor. My toolkit: CBT, positive psychology, mindfulness, interpersonal therapy, narrative & art therapy. I encourage a healthy lifestyle: exercise, diet, self-care.

What you can expect from me

We identify a problem, explore its origins, how it affects you & barriers to overcoming it. We then set a plan of small steps to address it. I help you clarify your goal, strengths & values, and build your self-esteem. Since change requires action & practice, I offer "homework" each session, such as practicing boundary setting (e.g., saying "no"), journaling, listing your strengths/skills, writing or re-writing your "story," initiating hard conversations, exploring your dreams and passions.
