Great to meet you!

I believe counseling should feel like a safe place where you can be completely yourself—without judgment and without feeling like you have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. My approach is warm, genuine, and direct. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me, whether we are working through something painful, trying to make sense of a difficult relationship, or simply figuring out how to move forward when life feels overwhelming.

I believe people are capable of growth and change, but I also understand that change isn’t always easy. I meet clients where they are, help them recognize their strengths, and work alongside them to develop practical ways to create meaningful change in their lives. Therapy with me isn’t about being told what to do—it’s about having someone in your corner who will listen, support you, challenge you when needed, and help you find your own way forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered, collaborative, and practical. I believe every person is different, so I tailor therapy to the individual rather than expecting everyone to fit into the same approach. I take time to understand not only what you are struggling with, but also your experiences, relationships, strengths, and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

I combine support and compassion with honest feedback and practical strategies you can use outside of the therapy room. Depending on your needs, we may work on understanding emotions, changing unhelpful thought or behavior patterns, improving relationships and communication, developing healthier coping skills, or processing difficult experiences from the past. I want therapy to be a place where you feel heard and accepted, but also a place where real growth and meaningful change can happen.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable. You don’t need to come in knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been going on in your life, and what you would like to be different.

I’ll ask questions to help me understand you and your experiences, but I want the conversation to feel natural rather than like an interview. We’ll begin identifying the areas you would like to work on and what you hope to gain from therapy. Most importantly, the first session gives you an opportunity to get a feel for me and decide whether I am someone you feel comfortable talking to. Building a trusting relationship is important to me, and we can move at a pace that feels right for you.
