Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Dr. Paula Robinson, DNP, PMHNP-BC, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care. I hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and have several years of clinical experience working with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions.

Over the past four years, I have provided care to patients dealing with disorders such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and other complex mental health challenges. My approach to care focuses on creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where patients feel heard and empowered to participate in their treatment.

I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. My treatment approach combines evidence-based medication management, supportive therapy, and collaborative care to help individuals achieve improved mental wellness and quality of life.

My goal is to partner with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan that supports long-term stability, resilience, and emotional well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centered. As a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I believe that effective mental health treatment begins with building a trusting relationship where clients feel respected, safe, and heard.

I work closely with each client to understand their unique experiences, symptoms, and life circumstances. During the initial evaluation, I conduct a comprehensive assessment to identify concerns, establish an accurate diagnosis, and develop an individualized treatment plan that aligns with the client’s goals.

My care approach includes evidence-based medication management, supportive therapy, and education to help clients better understand their mental health conditions and treatment options. I emphasize collaboration, encouraging clients to actively participate in decisions about their care.

I have experience working with individuals experiencing a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and stress-related challenges. My goal is to support clients in improving their emotional well-being, strengthening coping skills, and achieving long-term stability and quality of life.

I strive to provide care that is holistic, culturally sensitive, and respectful of each person’s background and values, ensuring that every client receives treatment that is both effective and compassionate

What you can expect from me

During your first session, my goal is to get to know you and understand your concerns in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. The initial visit is typically a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we will discuss your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, and any factors in your life that may be affecting your emotional well-being.

I will ask questions about your mood, stress levels, sleep patterns, relationships, work or school experiences, and any previous treatments or medications you may have tried. This helps me develop a clear understanding of your needs and determine the most appropriate treatment plan.

At the end of the session, we will discuss possible diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps. If appropriate, this may include medication management, therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, or referrals to additional support services.

You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share your goals for treatment. My goal is to ensure that you leave the session with a better understanding of your mental health and a clear plan for moving forward.

I strive to create a safe, respectful, and collaborative space where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns and actively participating in your care.
