Great to meet you!

I have worked in mental health throughout most of my career and have a wealth of experience working with children and adults across the life span through the challenges of life enduring loss, trauma, abuse, neglect, addictions, medical conditions and poverty. I really like to focus on strengths and empower clients to overcome challenges and find the silver lining in life.

My approach to therapy

I would like to hear what your goal is for therapy. I like to learn what problems are interfering with you living your best life and what strengths you have that has helped you to be resilient or a survivor up to now. Is your expectation time limited or on-going support? What your perspective of your situation is and your expectation of how I can be of service to help you. I think gaining coping skills to manage emotions and being solution focused can be very helpful. I believe offering insight or psychoeducation about mental illness or a variety of other problems is helpful. I can help you find a wealth of supportive services that can be a great resource for you.

What you can expect from me

I would like to get to know you using a screening tool that covers a variety of information as a way to break the ice. I think hour sessions can be most effective. I would like to take notes so that I can be prepared for future sessions. I would like to cover my role in this process with you as well as what I can expect from you in doing the work to move forward.
