Great to meet you!

Hi,

My name is Payal and I am an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) who has been in the field for 7 years.

I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2019 with an MSW, where I focused on prison rehabilitation and treatment. Since 2019 I have been working in community mental health specializing in supporting children and families navigate trauma, attachment and crises. I am passionate about this work and am deeply committed to meeting you wherever you are in your growth.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I believe that a gaining a deeper understanding of our emotions, experiences and sense of self is foundational to achieving inner peace and more fulfilling relationships. My approach to therapy is rooted in creating a safe space with trust, compassion and curiosity, where the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of our work. I will meet you wherever you are in your mental health journey and we will work within the capacities you have in each moment. Instead of using a specific set of interventions, I believe therapy should be tailored to the individual, as we all bring our own unique experiences to the world. Together, I will work with you to meet your emotions, instead of just managing them. This means slowing things down, turning inward and exploring what your feelings are communicating about your experience, beliefs and yourself.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will spend some time exploring your experiences with therapy, the challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I will ask questions about your background and experiences to better understand you, your needs, and what has brought you to therapy. My intention is to approach our time together with warmth, curiosity, and compassion, creating a space where you can feel safe enough to be open and vulnerable at your own pace.
