Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Peg Black. I am a mental health provider and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Throughout my career, I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, community mental health settings, and private practice. Most recently, I worked in a private physician's office specializing in addiction and mental health treatment.

It is a privilege to help people become empowered and achieve their personal goals and full potential. I deeply value the personal stories my clients share and the trust they place in me throughout their journey.

I have been passionate about this work for nearly 50 years. Helping others has always been my calling—I never had a Plan B.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered. I believe it is important for us to work as a team to identify the issues that matter most to you and set meaningful goals together. I strive to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you can move at your own pace rather than feeling rushed.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to develop practical coping skills. Above all, I value building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, and open communication.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive environment during their first session. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable sharing their concerns, experiences, and what has brought them to therapy.

The first session is primarily an opportunity for me to listen, learn about your story, and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect. We will also discuss what you would like to achieve through therapy and identify goals for the future. I believe in helping clients empower themselves and take an active role in creating the changes they want to see in their lives.
