Great to meet you!

I graduated in 2009 with a BA in Psychology from the University of North Texas and in 2014 with a MA in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. I began as a caseworker in 2009 by providing skills training such as anger management, conflict resolution, parenting skills, and so forth. I was licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor in April 2014 and have worked with individuals experiencing depression and anxiety. I worked with teenagers who were in the juvenile system as well as their families. I opened my private practice in 2018 and since then I am integrating Christian Counseling.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy that incorporates a variety of therapeutic principles including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Humanistic Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, etc. My goal is to help individuals discover a more grace-filled personal life, help couples create a more intimate marriage, and help families enjoy more fulfilling family life. I believe that each person is a special creation of God and should be treated with dignity, incorporating their faith and helping them to grow as a person by moving towards integration of mind, body, and spirit.

What you can expect from me

During the intake, I conduct an interview with the client to help them understand their symptoms and their underlying causes. We explore any traumatic events or stressful situations they have encountered throughout their lives. Additionally, I focus on establishing rapport to build trust, show empathy, and respect, creating a safe environment for the client to feel comfortable as they begin their healing journey.
