As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide holistic care for neurodivergent individuals with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, OCD, PTSD and trauma, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar conditions. My practice is built on the understanding that neurodivergent mental health exists within the context of your entire life experience, relationships, and the challenges of navigating a neurotypical world.

What distinguishes my approach is my commitment to understanding not just your symptoms but how neurodivergence has shaped your life experiences. I recognize that conditions like ADHD, autism, and OCD don't exist in isolation—they interact with your trauma history, social experiences, educational background, and personal relationships in unique ways that require individualized treatment approaches.

My treatment philosophy emphasizes both celebrating neurodivergent strengths and addressing genuine challenges. I believe in helping you understand your brain, develop strategies that work with your neurotype, and process any difficult experiences you've had as a neurodivergent person in a world that often doesn't accommodate differences. Whether you're seeking diagnosis, managing multiple conditions, or working through trauma related to your neurodivergent experiences, I provide care that honors all aspects of who you are.

I provide a safe space where your experiences are validated. I'm committed to creating a therapeutic partnership where you feel genuinely understood and accepted. Together, we'll build resilience, develop effective strategies, and create a fulfilling life that celebrates your authentic neurodivergent self.

My approach to therapy

Authentic connection and deep, abiding mutual respect form the foundation of my approach to psychiatric care. True healing begins when you feel seen, heard, and valued—not as a fixed set of symptoms, but as a whole person navigating real-life challenges. I bring both rigorous clinical expertise and sincere, heartfelt empathy to every single encounter, because truly meaningful care simply cannot thrive without both.

I practice patient-centered psychiatry, meaning your goals, values, and preferences inform every decision we reach together. I offer thoughtful, clear guidance grounded in research and clinical experience, but I will never steer you toward any treatment that does not align with who you truly are. Your autonomy is not only honored; it is essential. I view informed consent as an ongoing conversation, not a single moment on a form.

I am skilled in psychiatric evaluation, differential diagnosis, and medication management, and I stay current with the latest developments in the field. Mental health care is both a science and an art—no two people are exactly alike, and truly effective treatment demands a genuinely personalized approach. I take genuine, unhurried time to understand your history, circumstances, and challenges so we can craft a plan thoughtfully tailored to your individual needs.

I view medication and non-medication strategies as equally important. When medication is truly appropriate, I prescribe thoughtfully, explain my reasoning clearly, and monitor your response closely. I am equally dedicated to evidence-based therapy, healthy lifestyle changes, and practical skill-building that supports your long-term wellbeing.

I hold a holistic view of mental health, recognizing the profound connection between your psychological, physical, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Open, honest dialogue about what is and is not working is always welcomed here. Nothing you choose to share will ever be minimized or dismissed.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment offers medication management the way it truly should be: individualized, compassionate, and genuinely collaborative. I firmly believe that truly outstanding psychiatric care always starts with understanding you as a complete and unique person, reaching far beyond any single label or diagnosis. Together, we'll set aside unhurried time to explore your situation within a safe and judgment-free space.

I'll talk with you about the mental health conditions affecting you, whether that's depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, or something else, and we'll examine your symptoms: mood shifts, anxiety patterns, panic episodes, difficulty focusing, sleep problems, appetite changes, and intrusive thoughts, looking closely at their severity, their frequency, their triggers, and the impact they have on your daily life.

I'll ask about prior diagnoses, any hospitalizations, earlier treatment attempts, and the psychiatric medications you've used before. The details genuinely matter here: the specific medications, dosages, duration, effectiveness, side effects, and the reason each one was discontinued. We'll also review your current health status, including chronic conditions and active prescriptions, and how you've responded to the various approaches you have tried before.

I'll also explore your wider life context: past trauma, significant losses, current stressors, relationship dynamics, and the strength of the support system around you. All of these profoundly shape your wellbeing and your recovery, and no part of your story is ever too small to matter here.

You can expect a thorough yet comfortable conversation, followed by a clear treatment discussion in which your options are fully explained, your questions are genuinely answered, and confidence is built together. You will leave with a personalized plan and the steady reassurance of a devoted partner who will be supporting you at every step of the way.
