Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Pete Steele, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts, and I’ve been practicing for over 12 years. I specialize in trauma and post-traumatic growth, but I also work as a general practitioner with adults facing anxiety, loss, relationship challenges, or just the weight of being human. My approach is collaborative and grounded—I’ll follow your lead, make sure you’re safe, and help you explore the places that have felt too painful or complicated to face alone. Therapy with me can be honest, sometimes hard, often surprising, and deeply human. I look forward to meeting you, getting to know your story, and diving into the real work together.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in deep respect for your pace and process. I believe therapy works best when it’s a collaboration. You take the lead, and I follow with curiosity, reflection, and care. I work from the idea that healing happens through relationship: when we feel safe enough to tell the truth, to experiment with new ways of being, and to explore the parts of ourselves that have long been hidden or silenced. I specialize in trauma, grief, and life transitions, but I also work as a general practitioner helping adults navigate anxiety, relationships, identity, and burnout.

Therapy with me isn’t a lecture or a list of coping skills, it’s a conversation, sometimes quiet and searching, sometimes raw and real, always human. We might sit with what hurts, but we’ll also make space for what gives you meaning, hope, and strength. Together, we’ll trace the patterns, practice new ways of relating, and build a life that feels more authentic one step, one insight, one leap of courage at a time.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about slowing down, getting oriented, and beginning to build trust. I’ll start by asking what brings you in now, what you hope to get out of therapy, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past. You can share as much or as little as feels right. There’s no script, no pressure, and no expectation to have your story neatly packaged. My role is to listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help us begin mapping the terrain of your life together.
