Hello, I’m Peter Wong, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California, with a private practice located in Rocklin. I provide both in-person counseling and telehealth services when clinically appropriate.
Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings, including adult psychiatric facilities, River Oaks Center for Children, and both faith-based and secular counseling agencies. My clinical experience includes helping clients navigate crisis situations, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, grief, depression, and other emotional and relational challenges.
I am trained in IMAGO Relationship Therapy and am a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, supporting couples in strengthening communication, deepening connection, and building healthier relationships.
In addition to my private practice, I serve as a volunteer mental health professional with the Sacramento Mandarins Drum & Bugle Corps Health & Wellness Team, where I provide mental health support to members, volunteers, and staff.
I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Seminary and am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-informed care tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental, with an emphasis on building a strong therapeutic relationship that fosters growth and healing.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a range of evidence-based practices and tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, goals, and circumstances. My clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples, and families facing challenges such as depression, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, crisis situations, substance abuse, and emotional distress.
My seminary training has provided me with a deeper understanding of the role that faith and spirituality can play in the healing process. While I welcome clients who wish to incorporate their faith into therapy, I also work comfortably with individuals from diverse cultural, spiritual, and non-religious backgrounds. My goal is to provide care that is respectful, personalized, and aligned with each client’s values and beliefs.

I use an integrative, client-centered approach, drawing from evidence-based practices and tailoring treatment to each person's unique needs, strengths, and goals. Whether addressing depression, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, substance abuse, crisis situations, or emotional distress, I work alongside clients to develop greater self-awareness, healthier coping strategies, improved communication, and stronger relationships.
My seminary training has also given me an appreciation for the role that faith and spirituality can play in the healing process. For clients who desire it, these perspectives can be thoughtfully integrated into therapy. At the same time, I welcome individuals from all cultural, spiritual, and nonreligious backgrounds and strive to provide care that is respectful of each person's values and beliefs.
Ultimately, my goal is to help clients build resilience, gain insight, strengthen relationships, and develop the tools needed to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, purpose, and emotional well-being.
