Great to meet you!

As the Founder of Daelight Foundation Counseling Services, LLC, my name is Phenaysza Riley, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey. I have experience providing school-based and community mental health services, working as both a school counselor and clinician supporting adolescents, adults, and families through challenges related to anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and overall emotional well-being.

I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, which continues to strengthen my clinical skills, leadership, and commitment to ethical, culturally responsive care.

My approach to counseling is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I specialize in working with clients navigating anxiety, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, family conflict, and building resilience. I believe counseling is a partnership, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is supportive, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe clients are the experts of their own lives, and I work alongside them to help them reach their goals. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing and exploring their thoughts and feelings.

I use practical strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques to help clients manage anxiety, improve self-esteem, regulate emotions, and build healthy coping skills.

My goal is to help clients gain insight, build confidence, and develop tools they can use long after therapy ends.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a warm and safe space where they can share at their own pace. I focus on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and learning what goals you would like to work on.

I will explain confidentiality, answer any questions, and talk about how therapy works. By the end of the session, you can expect to feel heard, supported, and clear about the next steps.
