Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 25 years of counseling experience. Throughout my years of practice, I have worked with individuals (adults and adolescents), and Families.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in the areas of depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, family relationship problems, trauma informed care and cultural competency. Sub-categories of these problems include: anger management, trauma, difficulty adjusting to life stressors, and acculturation issues.

I truly believe in the importance of Cultural Competency within my practice. I actively recognize, understand, and honor the cultural background, values, and lived experiences of the client. I further believe a therapist must modify their methods to fit the client’s unique cultural worldview.

My past work experience includes clinical counseling at a community mental health center, and working as a clinical social worker for the State of RI. Before entering the human services and mental health fields, I proudly served as a member of the United States Air Force for eight years as a law enforcement specialist.

What you can expect from me
