Great to meet you!

My name is Phillip Scherbakov, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in integrative and lifestyle-focused mental health care.

My background combines psychiatry, behavioral neuroscience, exercise physiology, and whole-person wellness. I have worked across psychiatric and medical settings where I learned that mental health cannot be separated from physical health, lifestyle, purpose, and environment.

My clinical training emphasized psychopharmacology, psychotherapy principles, and evidence-based lifestyle interventions that support long-term recovery rather than temporary symptom relief.

I work with those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, burnout, mood disorders, attention difficulties, and life transitions. I also have a strong interest in performance optimization where I help individuals who are functioning but want to feel more aligned, focused, and fulfilled.

My goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help clients reconnect with themselves, build resilience, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and sustainable.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and deeply personalized.

I practice integrative psychiatry, meaning looking beyond diagnoses alone and examine sleep, movement, nutrition, stress physiology, relationships, identity, and life direction alongside traditional psychiatric treatment. Medication can be an important tool, but it is only one part of care.

Clients often describe my style as direct, supportive, and solutions-focused. I believe therapy and psychiatric care should create clarity and momentum not confusion or dependence.

We will work together to identify root contributors to distress and develop a treatment plan that may include:

  • Thoughtful medication management when appropriate
  • Lifestyle and behavioral interventions
  • Nervous system regulation strategies
  • Meaning-centered and insight-oriented conversations
  • Performance and wellness optimization

I view mental health as alignment between mind, body, and life trajectory. My role is to help clients move toward their highest functioning, not just feeling better, but living better.

What you can expect from me

The first session is designed to feel structured, welcoming, and collaborative.

We begin by understanding your story, what brought you in, what has or hasn’t worked before, and what you ultimately want your life to look like. I conduct a comprehensive psychiatric assessment while also exploring lifestyle, stress patterns, physical health, and personal goals.

Clients can expect:

  • A judgment-free environment
  • Clear explanations about symptoms and treatment options
  • Practical insights they can begin using immediately
  • A shared treatment plan tailored to their needs

By the end of the first session, most clients leave with greater clarity about their symptoms, an initial treatment strategy, and a sense of direction moving forward.

My intention is for you to feel heard, understood, and empowered because meaningful change begins when care is both scientifically grounded and genuinely human.
