Great to meet you!
Hello, and welcome!
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 20 years of experience in mental health care. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent over two decades as a psychiatric registered nurse caring for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, insomnia, and other mental health conditions. This foundation has shaped my compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, from Walden University in 2024 and hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Carolina Central University. Throughout my career, I have provided care in inpatient, outpatient, telepsychiatry, and long-term care settings, serving children, adolescents, adults, and older adults from diverse backgrounds. I believe that every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and involved in decisions about their treatment. I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where clients feel comfortable sharing their concerns. Together, we develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and practical lifestyle strategies. My clinical interests include depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, ADHD, PTSD and trauma-related disorders, OCD, insomnia, adjustment disorders, and other mood and behavioral conditions. I also have extensive experience working with older adults and individuals living with chronic mental illness. Originally from Ghana and now practicing in North Carolina, I appreciate the importance of culturally sensitive care. I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and strive to ensure every client feels respected, understood, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
