Great to meet you!

I am a Las Vegas native and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in psychology, sociology, and social work. I bring an equal mixture of professional knowledge and lived experience to my practice, which has shaped both the clinician I am and the way I connect with people.

My professional experience includes working with individuals navigating trauma, mental health concerns, major life transitions, relationship and family challenges, justice-system involvement, and circumstances that can make life feel overwhelming or difficult to navigate. I have worked with people from many different backgrounds, including individuals and communities who have historically been underserved or may not always feel understood within traditional systems.

As a person, I am open-minded, down-to-earth, and genuinely interested in getting to know the person beyond the diagnosis or reason that brought them to therapy. I believe my clients deserve a clinician who brings education and clinical expertise to the table without forgetting the value of humanity and real-life experience.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is what I like to call “informally formal.” I take my responsibility as your clinician seriously, but I do not believe therapy has to feel stiff, overly clinical, or disconnected from real life. I want you to feel comfortable enough to be yourself while knowing that the work we are doing together is intentional and clinically grounded.

My approach is holistic, person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I am also open-minded about what wellness can look like because I do not believe there is one path that works for everyone. Mental health does not exist separately from the rest of your life, so we may explore emotional, physical, social, environmental, relational, and other factors that influence your overall well-being.

Treatment is collaborative and individualized. Depending on your needs and goals, I may incorporate evidence-based interventions, cognitive and behavioral techniques, solution-focused strategies, psychoeducation, mindfulness, skill building, and exploration of patterns and life experiences.

I will support you, but I will also challenge you when appropriate. We may reflect, problem-solve, learn new skills, have difficult conversations, celebrate progress, and sometimes laugh. My job is not to tell you how to live your life. It is to help you better understand yourself, provide clinical guidance and practical tools, and work alongside you toward the version of wellness that you define for yourself.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. Yes, there will be questions I need to ask as your clinician, but I do not expect you to walk in with everything figured out, know exactly what you want to work on, or tell me your entire life story in one session.

We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, what is important to you, and what you hope may be different as a result of our work together. I also want to understand what has worked for you in the past, what has not, and what you need from me in order for therapy to feel useful.

You are welcome to ask me questions, too. Therapy is a relationship, and I believe it is important that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with.

Most importantly, you can come as you are. There is no perfect way to “do” a first therapy session. My goal is for you to leave our first meeting feeling heard, respected, and with a clearer understanding of how we can move forward together.
