Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Piper Harris, LPC, and I founded Untangled Mind in Marietta, Georgia. My practice is intentionally focused: I work with adults (30+) whose primary struggle is PTSD, cPTSD, or severe/acute anxiety. I don't currently treat OCD, depression, bipolar disorder, or relationship counseling, etc, because doing a few things exceptionally well, instead of many things adequately, is how I get my clients real results. If your main concern falls outside that focus, I'm happy to point you toward someone better matched.

I draw from trauma-focused work, CBT, and EMDR as part of an integrated approach. I assess each client fully before determining which tools we use and when, rather than starting from a single method. That clinical flexibility is part of what makes the work effective, so I'm not able to take clients requesting EMDR as a standalone service. My ideal client is someone who has tried "everything" and has not found relief, is ready to do the hard work, actively engage in the UM Pathway and workbook, and see and feel the healing they've longed for. Clients often say my direct, straightforward approach is what they’ve been missing.

As the wife of a retired law enforcement officer, I especially connect with first responders and their families, veterans, and individuals who want a no-nonsense approach. I refuse to fall prey to the passive model of counseling.

If you’re ready for measurable progress and a true partnership in your healing, I’d be honored to walk with you toward greater stability, strength, and hope. Schedule a complimentary consultation to learn more about how we can work together.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative CBT: structured, direct, and collaborative, designed for adults who want real results instead of endless talking in circles. We'll explore the roots of your anxiety or trauma because understanding matters, but we won't stay stuck there. Using trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, neuropsychotherapy (understanding how your brain responds to anxiety and trauma), and measurement-based care (I believe in proof of what actually works), I help you process what's weighing you down, calm your nervous system, and build new ways of responding so you can move forward. I bring in my own published workbooks as practical tools for between sessions, and we track your progress regularly so you can see the difference for yourself.

If you're tired of passive therapy and ready to engage actively with straight talk and tools that work, I'm a good fit.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll start with targeted assessments to get a clear picture of what's going on — no guesswork. From there, we build a personalized, written plan with specific goals, tools, and a realistic session timeline, so you know exactly what to expect.

I stay accountable by tracking your progress with data every month and providing practical resources, including my Untangling workbooks for anxiety or trauma. My goal is to give you direction and tools from day one so you're not just coping; you're actually getting better. This is a highly structured, results-focused model built on measurable progress, expectation of engagement and psychoeducational homework, and accountability, not open-ended talk therapy.
