Great to meet you!

Hello everyone and welcome!

I look forward to working with you on your trauma. It could be just a single event, or a series of traumatic events. I use the evidence based and well researched method called Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which is based on the well known method called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I will adjust it to you and your particular situation but is is structured, which means it has a session plan we will generally follow and there is light homework every day.

I work with adults, and I have most of my experience with young and middle aged women.

My approach to therapy

I approach each new client with enthusiasm and curiosity, and being prepared to learn from each new person I meet. We know that forming a strong positive relationship with your therapist is the most important factor in how well you will do in therapy, so it is important that you take the time to pick someone that you feel comfortable with. I like to ask a lot of questions and invite you to think for yourself, and use your own resources in solving your life's problems and building the life you want.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to get a lot of personalized attention and many questions. You can choose which ones to answer and how much to tell me. I will ask about your current strengths and what you are doing well, and if that's hard to figure out I will help you. We will set a small goal or two. With treating trauma, it is better to go too slowly than too fast. We will measure your trauma symptoms to see where you are, so we can compare as we move forward in our work.
