Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 18 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges — from anxiety and trauma to relationship struggles, grief, and life transitions. I've worked in community health clinics and residential settings for adolescents, which means I've sat with people through some of their hardest moments. My style is direct but warm. I won't just listen and reflect — I'll actively work with you, share what I'm noticing, and help you connect patterns you might not have seen yet. I specialize in trauma, attachment issues, dissociation, and anxiety disorders, and I incorporate creative arts therapy for clients who find traditional talk therapy limiting. I'm also experienced working with LGBTQ+ clients and affirming of all identities. Finally, I like to think of my approach as holistic, working with clients to help them discover their best selves and to feel well in all aspects of their lives. I offer telehealth sessions throughout New York State.

My approach to therapy

I draw from several approaches — attachment-based therapy, CBT, trauma-focused work, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness — but I don't treat any of them as a script. What guides our work is you: your history, what isn't working right now, and what you actually want to change. I've found that real progress happens when therapy feels collaborative. I'll ask questions that challenge you, offer honest observations, and help you build skills that carry over into your life outside sessions. I also take a motivational approach, helping clients to uncover what truly lights them up!

What you can expect from me

The first session is a just a conversation! You'll have space to share what brought you in, and I'll ask questions that help me understand more of the full picture — not just the presenting problem, but your history, your relationships, and what's worked or hasn't in the past. By the end of that first session, you'll have a sense of whether we're a good fit. You don't need to have it all figured out before we start — that's what the work is for.
