Great to meet you!

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice–prepared, board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in primary care, hospice, and mental health. With experience serving diverse populations, including veterans and families, care is delivered with a whole-person focus that integrates physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Special areas of interest include anxiety, depression, stress-related disorders, women’s mental health, and lifestyle-based approaches to wellness. A faith-informed perspective can be incorporated into care when desired, while always respecting each client’s individual beliefs and preferences.

The goal is to create a safe, supportive space where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to take control of their health.

My approach to therapy

The first session is designed to be thorough, welcoming, and non-judgmental. Clients can expect a structured yet conversational experience where there is time to fully share concerns, history, and goals.

During this session:

  • A comprehensive psychiatric and medical history is reviewed
  • Current symptoms, stressors, and lifestyle factors are explored
  • Initial impressions and potential diagnoses are discussed
  • A personalized treatment plan is developed together

Clients will leave the first session with clarity, a sense of direction, and practical next steps.

The environment is calm, respectful, and focused on building trust from the very beginning.

What you can expect from me

The approach to care is collaborative, personalized, and evidence-based. Treatment is tailored to each individual, recognizing that no two people experience mental health in the same way.

Care may include a combination of:

  • Thoughtful medication management when appropriate
  • Lifestyle interventions (sleep, nutrition, stress management)
  • Brief therapeutic techniques such as supportive therapy, CBT-informed strategies, and solution-focused approaches

There is a strong emphasis on identifying root causes, not just treating symptoms. Clients are active participants in their care, with shared decision-making at the center of the process.

The focus is on sustainable, long-term improvement rather than quick fixes.
