Great to meet you!

Welcome—I’m glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, and you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.

I’m a Behavioral Health Counselor with over 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, emotional challenges, and life transitions.

On a personal level, I grew up in a military household with siblings, where change, adjustment, different personalities, and learning how to find your place were simply part of life. Those experiences taught me early that life can be complex, families can be complicated, and sometimes we have to learn how to adapt while still figuring out who we are. They also helped shape the compassion, flexibility, and genuine curiosity I bring into my work with others.

My approach to therapy is warm, practical, trauma-informed, and down-to-earth. I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, while recognizing that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I want to understand your story, your experiences, and what matters to you.

My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself—without judgment and without feeling like you have to say the “right” thing. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening now, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build on the strengths you already have, and develop practical tools to help you feel more confident, balanced, and in control of your life.

Life can be complicated. Therapy doesn’t have to be.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, genuine, and conversational. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation—not a lecture, an interrogation, or a place where you feel pressured to have all the answers. You don’t need to use the “right” words or pretend that everything is okay. I meet you where you are, without judgment or pretense, and we work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I draw from approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, while keeping our work practical and focused on what matters to you. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and comfortable enough to be yourself while working toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really about getting to know each other and creating a comfortable space for you to talk. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping will change, and what’s been going on in your life. I’ll ask questions, but it won’t feel like an interrogation or an interview. Think of it as a conversation where we begin to figure out what you need and how I can best support you. You don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We’ll start where you are and take it from there—at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
