Great to meet you!

Hi, I am Priya, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over five years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, from children to older adults receiving end-of-life care. I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). My professional background primarily includes working with individuals experiencing mental health crises, and I am experienced in supporting those struggling with suicidal ideation, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I strive to provide a compassionate, collaborative, and person-centered approach to help clients navigate life's challenges and build resilience.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered, providing a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I primarily use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop effective coping skills. I also incorporate solution-focused techniques to build on strengths and support clients in reaching their goals.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, you can expect a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where you can share your experiences at your own pace. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, explore your current concerns, and identify goals you would like to work toward. Together, we will begin building a plan for services and start the process of creating meaningful change.
