Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Purity Mburu, a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Purified Mind Psychiatric Services PLLC. My passion is helping individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey. I believe in providing care that is compassionate, individualized, and grounded in evidence‐based practice.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Midwestern State University and my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler. I have been practicing as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for two years, supported by eight years of total nursing experience across inpatient, outpatient, and psychiatric emergency settings. These diverse clinical environments have shaped my ability to support patients with a wide range of mental health needs.

I specialize in working with children ages 6 and older, and I have extensive experience treating and supporting young patients with ADHD, ODD, depression, anxiety, OCD, and Autism. My approach with children is patient, collaborative, and family‐centered, ensuring that both the child and their caregivers feel supported and understood.

In my work with adults, I have helped individuals manage depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, and many other mental health concerns. I take a holistic and empathetic approach—listening closely, honoring each person’s story, and tailoring treatment to their unique needs and goals.

My mission is to create a safe, non‐judgmental space where patients of all ages feel comfortable expressing themselves and confident in their path toward healing. I am committed to fostering resilience, promoting mental wellness, and walking alongside my patients as they work toward balance and emotional clarity.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and evidence‐based practice. I believe that every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported, and I take time to understand each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals.

I use a holistic and patient‐centered approach, focusing not only on symptoms but also on the emotional, environmental, and physical factors that influence mental health. I work closely with patients and families to create individualized treatment plans that feel realistic, supportive, and empowering.

With children and adolescents, my approach is gentle, structured, and family‐focused. I prioritize building trust, helping young patients feel safe, and guiding caregivers on how to support their child’s emotional and behavioral needs.

With adults, I take a collaborative and empathetic approach, helping individuals gain insight, build coping skills, and develop long‐term strategies for emotional stability and resilience.

I believe in creating a non‐judgmental space where patients can openly express themselves, ask questions, and feel confident in their treatment plan. My goal is to help every patient move toward clarity, balance, and improved mental well‐being.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is designed to help you feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the very beginning. My goal is to create a calm, welcoming space where you can openly share your concerns without judgment.

During your initial visit, you can expect:

  • A comprehensive evaluation — We will discuss your symptoms, history, current challenges, and goals so I can understand the full picture of your mental health.
  • A collaborative conversation — I take time to listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and ensure you feel heard throughout the session.
  • Review of past treatments — We will talk about what has helped you in the past, what hasn’t, and what you hope to achieve moving forward.
  • A personalized treatment plan — Together, we will explore treatment options that align with your needs, comfort level, and goals. This may include non‐controlled medication options, therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, or supportive resources.
  • A safe, judgment‐free environment — You are encouraged to ask questions, express concerns, and share openly at your own pace.
  • Clear next steps — Before the session ends, you will know exactly what to expect moving forward, including follow‐up appointments and ongoing support.

My priority is to ensure you leave your first session feeling understood, supported, and confident that you are in the right place for your mental health care.
